Routine Exams and Hygiene Visits

During routine exams (check-ups), your dentist will examine the health of your teeth and gums. They will also look for any issues that have developed since your last visit such as cavities, gum disease, or any changes to existing dental work.

Hygiene visits (aka cleanings) include scaling and polishing of the teeth and are one of the most common dental procedures. This treatment involves the removal of plaque (biofilm) and tartar from the teeth, above and below the gumline, which cannot be removed by regular toothbrushing alone.
