Zoom® at Home Teeth Whitening in Calgary
Although it’s imperative for your teeth’s health and appearance to brush and floss them every day, they don’t always get as shiny as you would like. Foods and drinks people consume can contain tannins (among other components), which can stain teeth. If you want clean and bright teeth, a fantastic way to get them is by using Zoom at Home Teeth whitening.
How does Zoom at Home Whiten Teeth?
Along with chairside teeth whitening, Dental at the Met also offers Phillips Zoom at Home! These are take-home kits (that can be delivered straight to your door) that allow you to whiten your teeth at home. The process for whitening teeth is similar to the chairside procedure in that the kit bleaches your teeth with hydrogen peroxide. The whitening kit comes with custom fit upper and lower trays, as well as six syringes of the bleaching gel.
The Philips Zoom whitening syringes have concentration levels of either 9.5% or 22% so you may even see results immediately after using it! As a part of the process, it has a sealant that locks in the H2O2 varnish. The whitening process can take 30 to 90 minutes, but our dentist can answer any questions you have about timing and how often you need to whiten your teeth when using the kit.
This kit is now available through our dental office, and you can order it when you come in to have digital scans taken of your teeth for the custom trays. We will order the kit for delivery to your home (or back to our clinic) in five to seven business days.
How Long Does Whitening Last?
The Zoom whitening treatments will last for several months, depending on how well you take care of your teeth and depending on your diet and what you eat. To prolong the whitening effects from Zoom! teeth whitening, reduce the amount of staining food and drinks you consume. You can limit staining when drinking coffee, cola, or tea by drinking it through a straw. Some of the other foods and drinks to limit are:
- Red wine
- Red sauces
- Soy sauce
- Fruit juices
- Curry
Brush your teeth thoroughly after every meal or at least rinse your mouth with cool water and visit us every three to six months for a cleaning.
